More About Surgery

Doctor Denys Yurchenko developed the 70/30 Method in response to a challenge he encountered time and time again in his practice.

Patients in need of a breast lift would often bring reference photos of women who had undergone breast augmentation alone and had never experienced breast ptosis in the first place. However, restoring sagging breasts and augmenting naturally firm breasts are two very different surgical challenges.

Therefore, the surgeon’s goal was to develop a technique that would allow women with breast ptosis to achieve the same aesthetic outcome as patients undergoing standard breast augmentation without any pre-existing sagging.

Results of the 70/30 Method: varying degrees of breast ptosis have been successfully corrected, creating a result that closely resembles the appearance of a standard breast augmentation.

This is exactly what the 70/30 Method was designed to accomplish. Its purpose is not simply to enlarge ptotic breasts, but to:

• completely correct breast ptosis of any degree;
• create a breast shape that closely resembles the results of breast augmentation in patients who never had sagging in the first place;
• provide long-lasting results, allowing the breasts to maintain a beautiful, youthful, and well-defined contour for years to come. This long-lasting result is achieved because the procedure leaves no excess tissue within the breast that could later contribute to recurrent sagging.

The foundation of the 70/30 Method lies in a precise balance of volumes that makes its remarkable results possible: approximately 30% of the final breast volume comes from the patient’s own preserved tissue, while the remaining 70% is created by the implant.

The 70/30 Method vs. Breast Augmentation: What’s the Difference?

The implant, in turn, serves two key functions: it creates volume and upper-pole fullness while also providing support to the breast from below. The patient’s own tissue covering the implant gives the breasts a natural appearance and feel while seamlessly concealing the implant’s edges.

The 70/30 Method: Differences from the Traditional Breast Lift Approach

In traditional breast lift surgery with implants, the long-term outcome is often difficult to predict. Surgeons cannot reliably guarantee how the breasts will look years later because, while the implant size is determined in advance, the exact amount of tissue to be removed and reshaped is often decided intraoperatively.

The key advantage of the 70/30 Method is that all calculations are made during the planning stage, long before the operation begins. The final ratio between the patient’s own tissue and the implant always remains the same — 30% and 70%, respectively.

This precise approach allows the surgeon to achieve highly predictable, harmonious, and long-lasting results.

Key Additional Advantages of the 70/30 Method

1.Shorter anesthesia time. Because the 70/30 ratio is calculated in advance, the duration of surgery is significantly reduced: while a traditional anchor breast lift with implants typically takes 3–5 hours, the 70/30 Method requires only about 2.5 hours.

Since the procedure is performed under general anesthesia, a shorter operating time means less stress on the body, lower surgical risks, and a faster recovery.

2. Lower risk of complications. According to international data, traditional anchor breast lift surgery with implants is associated with postoperative complications and/or the need for minor corrective procedures in approximately 20% of cases. Denis Yurchenko’s proprietary 70/30 Method has significantly improved these outcomes, reducing the complication rate to just 12%.

3. Aesthetic and long-lasting results. Beyond correcting breast ptosis of any severity—from Grade I to Grade IV—the 70/30 Method restores a youthful breast contour by:

  • removing excess, stretched tissue;
  • repositioning the nipple–areola complex to a higher, more youthful position;
  • creating an aesthetically refined result that closely resembles the appearance of naturally youthful, non-ptotic breasts after a standard breast augmentation using the same implant volume.

Thanks to the precise preoperative planning based on the “30% natural tissue + 70% implant” principle, the results achieved with the 70/30 Method remain stable over time. The breasts do not gradually descend or lose their shape; instead, they maintain their elevated position, fullness, and firmness for many years.

The Crisalix 3D simulation below demonstrates how two patients with very different starting points can achieve nearly identical final results. One patient underwent a standard breast augmentation without any pre-existing sagging, while the other required an anchor breast lift with implants using the 70/30 Method to correct severe ptosis.

In both cases, Polytech 315 ml anatomical implants were used.

Are There Scars After the 70/30 Surgery?

Yes. This is an important aspect that every patient should understand during the planning stage.

Because the 70/30 Method is designed to correct severe breast ptosis and remove excess tissue, the procedure requires anchor-shaped incisions. The scars are located:

  • around the areola;
  • vertically from the areola to the inframammary fold;
  • along the inframammary fold itself.

These incisions allow the surgeon to remove excess tissue, elevate the breast gland, reposition the nipple–areola complex, and create the new breast shape.

Over time, postoperative scars typically fade and become far less noticeable. Their final appearance depends on a number of factors, including your individual healing process, adherence to your surgeon’s recommendations, proper scar care, and your skin’s natural tendency to scar.

If necessary, scar visibility can be further improved with laser resurfacing, other aesthetic treatments, or nude camouflage tattooing—but only after complete healing and with your surgeon’s approval.

Presentations and Training on the 70/30 Method

The first international presentation of Denis Yurchenko’s unique 70/30 Method for breast lift surgery took place in Spain in 2024 at the Bright Talents Conference attended by plastic surgeons from around the world.

Since then, the method has gained increasing recognition, with new presentations and hands-on training courses for Ukrainian plastic surgeons.

One of the key goals for 2026 is to expand the international presence of the 70/30 Method by introducing it to new countries and establishing it on the global stage of aesthetic breast surgery.

Anchor breast lift with implants is one of the most technically demanding procedures in aesthetic breast surgery. It requires the surgeon not only to master implant placement but also to have a deep understanding of breast anatomy, tissue blood supply, the mechanics of ptosis, wound healing, and the long-term behavior of the breasts after surgery.

At Yurchenko Team, these procedures are performed personally by Denis Yurchenko—the creator of the unique 70/30 Method and an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon who has dedicated many years to breast surgery, complex cases of ptosis, and aesthetic breast reconstruction.

The 70/30 Method, developed, practiced, and taught by Denis Yurchenko, demonstrates that even severe breast ptosis can be corrected to create beautifully shaped, harmonious, and natural-looking breasts with results designed to remain stable over time.
