More About Surgery
Chin plastic surgery: preparation
A small chin surgery performed by the Yurchenko Team helps to make the proportions more harmonious, refined, remove the “double chin” and rejuvenate for several years at once. This type of facial plastic surgery can restore natural beauty and proportions after injuries or congenital features. Compared to cosmetic fillers, the effect of the surgery remains for the entire life.
- Consultation. During the visit, the doctor listens carefully to the patient’s wishes, talks the patient through the surgery and rehabilitation and answers all questions. At this stage, the surgeon determines the type of correction required.
- Medical evaluation. The doctor assesses the condition of the facial tissues, degree of their elasticity, anatomical features of the face structure and proportions.
- Comprehensive examination. Before the surgery, each patient must perform laboratory tests (complete blood count and urine test, biochemical blood test, glucose in blood, coagulation panel, AIDS, HIV, HBV and HCV tests). It is also necessary to be examined by a general practitioner and an anesthesiologist.
How is chin plastic surgery performed?
On average, the surgery lasts less than 1 hour. General anesthesia is used.
To enlarge the chin, the surgeon uses silicone implants. The incision is made in the lower jaw area where the implant is fixed. The sutures are also applied with self-absorbent threads.
Plastic surgeon can also perform chin enlargement by lipofilling. The patient’s own adipose tissue is used as a filling material. When using this method, the effect lasts for a limited amount of time.
Rehabilitation period
At the end of the surgery, the patient is referred to the inpatient department of the clinic, where he/she stays for 24 hours under the supervision of medical staff. Doctor recommends following all the recommendations to minimize swelling and possible complications. It is also mandatory to wear a fixation bandage for 2 weeks after surgery.
The doctor schedules a follow-up examination on the 7th day to assess the patient’s general condition.
During rehabilitation, it is necessary:
- do not visit the sauna, solarium, swimming pool;
- keep the head in an elevated position while sleeping; sleeping on the belly is strictly forbidden
- do not apply makeup for 7 days;
- limit physical activity and workouts in the gym;
- limit the consumption of coffee, alcoholic beverages, and stop smoking during the first month.
